What is Remy hair?
Remy simply means that the cuticles of the hairs are aligned and going in one direction, which ensures that the hair will not tangle if it is properly taken care of. Non-Remy is the complete opposite and means that the hair cuticles are not aligned which means tangling will occur.
How is the hair length measured?
We measure our hair from the start of the weft to the tip of the hair for accurate measurement.
What is Machine Weft?
Machine Weft is what the hair is sewn on to so that it is able to be sewn onto one's hair or to be made into clip-in hair extensions.
What is the width of a weft?
This varies as the longer the hair is, the shorter the weft is. However, for example purposes 16" of our Machine Weft hair is approximately 9 feet wide.
How much hair should I purchase?
How much hair you purchase is entirely up to you as the customer. UKHairWeaves usually recommend a minimum of 200g for lengths 12" - 16" and 300g for lengths 18" and upwards as it is known that the longer the hair is, the shorter the weft is. However, all of this also depends on your desired volume and/or style you are trying to achieve, your stylist, the size of your head etc. We have had customers who are happy with results of 200g and other customers who were satisfied with a minimum of 400g.

UKHairWeaves usually recommend a minimum of 200g for lengths 12" - 16" and 300g for lengths 18" and upwards for a full install.
Can the hair be straightened? And if so will the waves/curls come back when washed?
As UKHairWeaves supply 100% Virgin Indian Remy Hair it can be treated the same way you would treat your own hair. So yes, it can be straightened and yes, once washed the hair will restore its natural waves/curls.
Can my hair extensions be colored? Do you offer a colouring service?
Yes, your hair extensions can be coloured as much as you like with no problems. Right now, we do not provide a colouring service.
Can I go swimming with my hair extensions?
Yes. You can swim with your extensions as much as you like and nothing will happen (although if you styled it with heat prior to swimming, once you go swimming it will revert to its natural wavy/curly state). Just make sure you wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of any chemicals and dirt then follow up with a moisturizing conditioner and air dry or blow dry; whichever you prefer.

How long will my new hair last?
Your hair will last as long as you take care of it. Due to our hair extensions being 100% Virgin Indian Remy hair, the hair will already have a great life span. However, maintaining your hair extensions well and treating it as if it is your own will help your hair last a very long time.
Do you sell lace fronts/ lace frontals?
UKHairWeaves only supply Machine Weft hair and Lace Closures.
Where is my order?
All orders can be tracked with the tracking number you are provided with in an email sent to inform you that your order has been dispatched. However, if your tracking information has not been updated at all within 24 hours of receiving your tracking number or you think you have received an incorrect tracking number please
contact us as soon as possible.
Once orders are dispatched to the address you have provided UKHairWeaves are not in control of your order being delivered to you so you will need to contact your shipping courier if you are experiencing any problems with your order being delivered.
We advise that you wait until the day after the last working day you are supposed to receive your order before contacting your shipping courier. For example, if your order is to be delivered within 5 - 10 working days from the day of dispatch we advise that you wait until the 11th working day before make any queries.
Please note: For international customers who choose to have their order dispatched via Royal Mail UK detailed tracking services on Royal Mail's website are unavailable. However, you may visit your country's main postal service's website and insert your tracking number there to receive more detailed updates. i.e. USA customers please visit

Royal Mail will only inform you once it has left the country, has reached the country of destination and once it has been delivered to you.

Why have I not received an order confirmation for my order?
An order confirmation is automatically sent to your email once you have placed your order. However, if you have not received this we advise that you check your spam/junk box. If it is not showing up in either section please check your
Order History to make sure your order has been placed. If your order has been placed and you have not received an email please e-mail us with your order number so we can confirm if we have received your order.
How are orders shipped?
For customers in the UK, all orders are shipped using Royal Mail UK's Next Day Special Delivery (guaranteed by 1pm) while international orders are shipped using either Royal Mail UK or DHL. All orders are insured by your shipping courier. For more information on our shipping policies,

How long will it take for my order to be delivered?
Once your order has been dispatched, customers within the UK will receive their order the next working day via Royal Mail's Next Day Special Delivery Service.
For customers in the USA or Canada we use either Royal Mail UK (which takes 5 - 10 working days) or DHL's Express service (which takes 1 - 4 working days).
For customers in Europe we use either Royal Mail UK (which takes 5 - 10 working days) or DHL's Express service (which takes 1 - 3 working days).
For customers elsewhere we use only DHL's Express Service which will take 1 - 5 working days.
What are the shipping fees?
Shipping costs vary and the best way to calculate shipping would be to put the item(s) in your shopping bag and proceed to the checkout page to see shipping options and costs to your residence.
How can I view your prices in my preferred currency?
Our currency tool is located at the top left corner of our website. You will see an option to change the currency from the drop-down menu to your preferred currency.
Please note: Though you are able to view our prices in your preferred currency we charge only in our default currency (GBP).
